Celina + Jonathan’s Engagement

Great photography involves much more than setting up a classic shot and pressing the shutter button. The ability to build trust with the couple and create an environment where the emotions of the moment can be captured is the key to my success as a photographer. When the backdrop is as breathtakingly beautiful as Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, CT it can be tempting to let the scenery dominate. Celina and Jonathan made it easy, though, as their warmth outshines even the beautiful mansions of this seaside location. Congratulations guys; I can’t wait to shoot your wedding this year!

Alyssa + Meghan’s Engagement

On October 12th of last year, I shot Alyssa + Meghan’s engagement in and around Christopher Columbus Park. I loved the creative approach we took to this shoot – taking advantage of the merry go-round, waiting for the perfect moment to capture the timed water fountain in my composition. Most importantly, I loved this engagement because of the love that radiated from Alyssa + Meghan together. I can’t wait to shoot your wedding this year 🙂

Hillary + Paul’s Wedding

Hillary + Paul’s love started after Paul saw Hillary’s “single” status on Facebook. Through instant messaging they began to get close and tied the knot not long after. You may remember them from their engagement that I shot last year, Hillary + Paul’s Engagement. Love is inseparable by race, gender or religion. It is pure, selfless, and in my heart I believe it is the reason that we are here. I don’t mean to sound philosophical, but through love we express ourselves and elevate what we do to the best of our ability. Infuse your day-to-day life with love and happiness will follow. The feelings of contentedness, satisfaction, and peace are what love provides. Hillary and Paul have different religions but that didn’t stop them from tying the knot. They found a rabbi and priest combo that were willing to perform their ceremony. I will never forget October 20th, 2013, a beautiful cloudy day in Salisbury, CT. Lastly, I’m going to quote John Lennon, “Love is a promise; love is a souvenir, once given never forgotten, never let it disappear.”

Anne + Jeffrey Engagement NYC

This past September I was lucky enough to shoot another engagement session in NYC. Best of all, I got to do it in the timeless and beloved Central Park. The size of this park never ceases to astound me. The scenery seems neverending, constantly sparking my creativity with every new backdrop. Naturally, this engagement was especially memorable to me for so many reasons. In particular, I have to mention the warm, gentle personalities of my subjects Anne and Jeffrey. During the shoot, I really felt a special connection with them and their love. When the client and photographer are in sync with each other, it can often lead to a genuine sense of friendship. As a result, photos emerge that are full of fun and joy. After working with couples like Anne and Jeffrey, I have come to understand that although being a good photographer is one thing, it is quite another to truly get to know your clients and bring down those barriers that all of us unconsciously will put up when our photograph is taken. The effect this has on photography is extraordinary – love in a picture frame. Anne and Jeffrey, I can’t wait to shoot your wedding this year!

Amber + Chas Engagement NYC

On August 2013, I went to NYC to shoot three engagements in the span of two days (more engagement posts coming soon!). Amber and Chas engagement is shot in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, New York; perfect day, perfect light and two of the most adorable people I’ve ever shot. Enjoy this session, I certainly had a blast, thank you Amber & Chas and congratulations!
